Who We Are
The Hunger Prevention Coalition of CO was formed in 2000 and includes citizen volunteers as well as representatives of public and private groups involved in addressing hunger problems in Central Oregon. HPC has a campaign called 'Help Fill Empty Plates' to eliminate hunger in the Central Oregon communities, that uses pull-off coupons at store checkouts. These shoppers donations and other funds raised are distributed through a grant process to food-provider agencies in Central Oregon. Currently 14 agencies are receiving these funds to increase nutritious food in what they give out either in food boxes or in served meals. In the last fiscal year we gave out over $82,000 to these food provider agencies. We have been in operation since 2000. To date we have raised almost $950,000 and given that money to food agencies, allowing them to enhance the nutritional value of the food they are providing to their customers.
What We Do
