Community Connectors play a critical role in helping community organizations post their volunteer opportunities on Connect Central Oregon’s database, connecting volunteers with community volunteer opportunities.

As a Community Connector, you will respond to community organizations and volunteers needing help in navigating the database. You may also wish to initiate reaching out to organization page managers who have not been active to help them update their postings.

This opportunity is flexible and can be carried out at home. It is helpful if you have computer experience. You will have support from our team as you gain valuable skills through this position. Just a few hours a week of phone and online assistance makes a world of difference to the individuals, groups, and organizations who use the database to connect with each other.

Connect Central Oregon fosters community engagement, leadership, and volunteerism to build a connected and thriving region. The Central Oregon Volunteer Connect (COVC) Program Manager administers CCO's relationships with nonprofit and public organizations that engage volunteers through postings on our volunteer-connecting platform. This role includes recruiting, guiding, and assisting volunteer program managers and volunteers engaging with the platform. The COVC Program Manager also builds program engagement through service days, volunteering campaigns, and volunteer fairs.

Experience with community volunteering, database technology, and relationship-building are highly recommended attributes for anyone interested in this position. This position involves 10 - 15 hours a week.

This position involves building partnerships, planning event logistics, engaging with attendees, and working with other team members to create events that foster community connections. The ideal manager has experience in event planning and is passionate about building relationships within the community.

As part of your role with Connect Central Oregon, you may have an opportunity to work with and mentor a mentern (mentored intern). This could involve offering guidance, sharing insights into your role, and providing hands-on learning experiences.

Media Programming Interns work with Connect Central Oregon’s media team to create and deliver high-quality content for events, social media, and partner engagements. This role offers valuable experience in content creation, video production, and media programming, making it an excellent opportunity for those interested in building media skills while supporting a community-focused nonprofit.
