Volunteer: Deploy as a Shelter Volunteer this Wildfire Season -- Bend

Are you interested in deploying and serving your community during this wildfire season? We are looking for Shelter volunteers willing and able to help the Red Cross provide sheltering at a single shelter throughout the cycle of a disaster. 

Minimum Time Commitment

To be able to deploy outside the Cascades Region (Oregon and SW Washington): at least 2 weeks in a row (12-hr shifts). 

OR

To be able to deploy inside the Cascades Region: at least 7 days in a row (12-hr shifts). 

OR

To be able to assist within 50 miles of your residence to get a shelter up and running: at least 3 days in a row (12-hr shifts). 

 Key Responsibilities:  

* Serve as a shelter worker on a disaster relief operation. Roles may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other areas within a shelter.

* Meeting disaster-caused sheltering needs of individuals, families, and communities.

* Providing services with kindness and compassion that are accessible and equitable to all clients.

Are you interested in deploying and serving your community during this wildfire season? We are looking for Shelter volunteers willing and able to help the Red Cross provide sheltering at a single shelter throughout the cycle of a disaster. 

Minimum Time Commitment

To be able to deploy outside the Cascades Region (Oregon and SW Washington): at least 2 weeks in a row (12-hr shifts). 

OR

To be able to deploy inside the Cascades Region: at least 7 days in a row (12-hr shifts). 

OR

To be able to assist within 50 miles of your residence to get a shelter up and running: at least 3 days in a row (12-hr shifts). 

 Key Responsibilities:  

* Serve as a shelter worker on a disaster relief operation. Roles may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or other areas within a shelter.

* Meeting disaster-caused sheltering needs of individuals, families, and communities.

* Providing services with kindness and compassion that are accessible and equitable to all clients.

* Maintaining clear communication and collaboration with supervisor and peers.
