The COVR Secretary Member of the COVR Board The ideal COVR Board member is accountable, responsive, transparent, consensus-oriented, participatory, inclusive, efficient, and follows the rule of law. A new COVR Board member will familiarize themselves with both federal and state nonprofit guidelines, via the Secretary of State’s office and organizations such as Nonprofit Association of Oregon. COVR Board members are stewards of the organization and help bring in resources needed to achieve the nonprofit’s mission, including financial and in-kind donations. Board members are stewards who promote awareness and support of the COVR mission. Qualified candidates are dynamic individuals with a passion for veterans to help grow our mission and organization! We are seeking individuals who have previous nonprofit and/or business executive experience, marketing and PR, fundraising, grant-writing experience, or subject matter expertise in law and real estate. Previous Board and/or Executive Director experience preferred. Join a dynamic, growing nonprofit that is expanding its innovative programs to help veterans find peace and purpose, strengthening veteran families and the health of our community! This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about COVR’s mission and who has a track record of community service and leadership. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members. Some of the following commitments would be required. Time Commitment: The COVR Board Member commits 5-10 hours per month on behalf of the organization; to include monthly Board meetings, promotional events, committee meetings, etc. Term of Service: COVR Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term.
