Description

We are working on a project to remove weeds and plant native vegetation at Camp Polk Meadow Preserve! Earlier this spring we cover the ground with plastic to heat the soil and 'bake" the weed seeds over the summer. This pocess, called soil solarization, is now complete and we are ready to remove the plastic.  We need a few hands to help remove the large sheets of plastic from the area so that we can prepare the soil for planting native plants in October.

Rating: Work party with moderate physical activity

What to Bring: Work gloves (if you have them), long pants, sturdy hiking shoes, snacks/lunch, water. Dress for the weather.
