Volunteer: Morning feeding of equinesIn the mornings we feed all 22 of our equines hay and a pan of feed with supplements. All pans are made up the day before. It takes approximately 2-3 hours total as we prepare the next days feed when we are done. You would be fully trained and it would be beneficial to have previous horse experience, however, not necessary if you have a desire to learn and are comfortable around equines. We use a Kubota side by side to feed out of and have a very organized feeding routine. We have a few days available, Wednesday and Saturday, in the mornings to feed. Volunteer: Filling hay bags for equinesFilling hay bags for equines is a constant need and can fit into almost anyone’s schedule. We fill quite a few hay bags to feed to our equines. It helps them to have a measured amount of hay, waste less and to eat slower adding to better health in body and mind. Some of them are filled and need to be weighed, others are just filled. You would be thoroughly trained. It doesn’t take a lot physically, can be quite meditative, and is a great service to the horses here(and staff). Hours are flexible and it’s a great opportunity to be here. Organization: HeartSpace Horse Sanctuary Filling hay bags for equines is a constant need and can fit into almost anyone’s schedule.
