Who We Are

Throughout Central Oregon, we work on the greatest global threat to all living things: global warming: Focusing on a JUST transition for all people to a low carbon economy. We give special consideration to the needs of the most vulnerable communities, such as the elderly, families with children, rural residents, people of low income and people of color.

All must have equal access to innovation and resiliency, and the ability to work in a low carbon economy. Education features prominently as we engage individuals, business, and government in our Go Clean Energy Conference, now in its 7th year. We bring in experts with new ideas in clean energy, waste, transportation, and buildings. We work in tandem with local leaders and institutions, such as cities, counties, colleges, and other nonprofits to inspire people to engage and adapt to new actions and behaviors. This innovation is key to our community's resiliency, quality of life, and economic prosperity, as well as the future of the planet.

What We Do

We believe that Change is a vital aspect of developing a better world. Quality of life, health, prosperity, and economic well-being are enhanced by innovation.

We know that clean energy and efficiency can greatly reduce energy burden of low to moderate income communities. We have brought in experts to the Go Clean Energy Conference to brief nonprofits, the building community as well as governments on affordable housing and building innovations in this area.

To train and recruit the volunteer talents of scientists, professionals, tribal communities, policymakers, and opinion leaders. We engage assistance in developing content for community education, as well as the support to deliver it as part of a community outreach.

To work with local government, colleges, nonprofits, and businesses to build awareness of options to innovate and save money, while building resiliency. This includes clean energy, energy efficiency programs, or adoption of electrified fleets and buildings.

Example: We worked with Central Oregon Community College (Madras and Redmond Campuses) and Worthy Brewery to install electric vehicle charging.

We support the deployment of the City of Bend Climate Action plan, which was developed as part of a community effort. This includes education and community engagement around waste, public and multimodal transportation, clean energy, efficiency, and electric vehicles.

We outreach and engage with businesses, builders, nonprofits, and faith institutions to educate them about these issues. Fostering a sustainable future, and a community involved in sustainability is beneficial to everyone. This may mean simple actions, such as reducing plastic or food waste, engaging in multimodal transportation, or deploying solar, and or efficiency measures in housing and buildings.
