Who We Are
Healing Reins is not a typical treatment setting, which is exactly why it works! We partner with clients, caregivers, medical professionals, mental health providers and local agencies to offer a unique team approach to healing and recovery. Professionally certified staff are assisted by 100+ weekly community volunteers who are specially trained to provide safe and effective rehabilitative services. Healing Reins serves 180+ children, teens and adults each week throughout the year and has increased programming offered by establishing our own on-site mental health clinic in Spring 2021.
Our mission is “to heal with horses” by offering nationally accredited, affordable, horse-centered therapies and experiences that bring strength, independence, confidence and joy to Central Oregonians of all ages and abilities. Caring volunteers and certified riding instructors assist to ensure a quality experience.
What We Do
Since 1999, Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center has provided equine-assisted strategies designed to help Central Oregonians with varying disabilities and special needs to thrive. With the horse as partner, participants enter a truly integrated therapeutic experience that is proven effective and fun. Through collaboration within the medical community and the assistance of over 100 volunteers, our PATH Int’l (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) certified staff provides safe and effective rehabilitative services to 180+ children, teens, and adults weekly.
Our services run Monday - Saturdays. There is no hourly requirement to volunteer. No horse experience necessary to volunteer!
