Who We Are

For over 60 years, the Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) has served Central Oregon by caring for stray, neglected and abused animal. As the only open-admission shelter in Central Oregon, HSCO cares for over 3,000 animals each year including cats, dogs and small animals. The HSCO Volunteer Program supports HSCO operations by assisting staff, caring for animals and helping at our Thrift Store. Details about current volunteer openings and descriptions of volunteer opportunities can be found at http://www.hsco.org/volunteer. While volunteer needs at the Shelter vary, the HSCO Thrift Store has openings throughout the year.

What We Do

The mission of HSCO is to care for abandoned, stray, neglected, surrendered and abused animals. We work toward the placement of all adoptable animals. Through humane education and community outreach, we endeavor to inspire a community to responsibly care for all animals.
