Who We Are
Community Solutions of Central Oregon is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Oregon since 1998.
Our mission is to help people have difficult conversations and find viable solutions to conflict in their lives. We provide quality dispute resolution programs and services to the people and communities of the Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson tri-county region of Central Oregon.
Our vision is to transform communities through communication. This vision is meant to remind us that improvements in interpersonal communications can have a great impact on issues and events shaping Central Oregon communities. We see ourselves as influence agents by practicing time-tested and emergent communication techniques, promoting skilled communication as the best way of resolving disputes, diversifying our programs and services to meet changing community needs, and by advocating for most-appropriate levels of public funding for our profession.
As we enter our 25th year as a community service organization, we'll let the numbers speak for themselves: An estimated 3,500+ unique cases, supported by 450+ volunteer mediators, directly impacting some 10,000+ individuals, all while achieving a collective 70% success rate in reaching a wide range of compromise, consensus, or agreement. We’re well established, very experienced, and the most affordable conflict resolvers in the region if not the State.
What We Do
We provide a wide-range of dispute resolution programs as part of our mediation, facilitation, and education services.
Our four signature mediation programs include case work within community, family, pre-trial, and home foreclosure areas; an estimated 235 cases per year.
Our facilitation services continue to serve groups including nonprofit boards of directors, public meeting forums, and group collaboratives working to build strategies, consensus, and policies that best meet their current and future needs.
Our education services now include conflict coaching, community workshops on conflict management, and several dispute resolution basic and specialty courses.
