We are actively seeking people to help out the day of our OVER THE EDGE (OTE) event on September 7th. If you are not familiar with OTE you can learn more by going to the United Way website at www.deschutesunitedway.org. In brief, OTE is a peer to peer fund raising event in which people raise money for United Way for the privilege of rappelling off the top of the Oxford Hotel in downtown Bend. We have several volunteer spots related to the actual rappel that we need to fill.
Ropes Volunteers: assist the rappellers in their descent
- Training: 7am -10am, working on rappels: 11am-3pm at the latest.
- Previous experience with rope safety systems (ropes course facilitation, rock climbing instruction, high angle rescue, industrial rope access, etc.) is preferred but NOT required.
- Lunch will be provided.
