Description

About Unity4Inclusion:

Unity4Inclusion is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Madras, Oregon, dedicated to fostering community inclusion and building international bridges. After a successful 2024 advocacy trip to Japan and being awarded a $5,000 Priority Grant from St. Charles Health System, we are entering an exciting phase of growth. We are seeking a dedicated finance professional to join our Board of Directors and lead our fiscal management.

The Role:

We are looking for a Treasurer who is not just a "numbers person," but a strategic partner. Your primary goal will be to establish and maintain a transparent financial system that supports our local community programs and our international outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Implementation: Lead the setup and implementation of QuickBooks for the organization.

  • Financial Oversight: Manage the general ledger, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.

  • Grant Management: Track the allocation and spending of grant funds (e.g., St. Charles Health System) to ensure compliance and easy reporting.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial statements to the Board of Directors.

  • Compliance: Oversee the preparation of annual tax filings (Form 990) and ensure the organization remains in good standing with the state and IRS.

Transparency & Commitment (Required):

  • Full Transparency: While financial tasks can be handled remotely, in-person attendance is required for board meetings and key organizational activities. However, we offer flexibility when Unity4Inclusion is actively hosting community events or specific activities where remote coordination is more practical.

  • Attendance: Participation in Quarterly board meetings is required and other board meetings when either the Board Secretary or Board President calls for Special Session.

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 3–5 hours per month.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in QuickBooks: Proven experience setting up and managing QuickBooks Online or Desktop is essential.

  • Non-Profit Literacy: Familiarity with fund accounting or non-profit financial standards is highly preferred.

  • Communication: Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for board members and community partners.

  • Commitment: Willingness to attend monthly board meetings and dedicate approximately 3–5 hours per month.
