The Saving Grace Hospital Response Team (HRT) consists of staff and volunteers who respond to St. Charles Medical Center (in Bend or Redmond) for advocacy with sexual assault and intimate partner violence victims. HRT Advocates provide emotional support, information and referrals to survivors. An HRT Advocate must be able to respond to calls during evening and weekend shifts. HRT Advocate responsibilities include:
- Volunteer for 2 on-call shifts per month
- Empower sexual assault and intimate partner violence victims by providing emotional support, information, and resources
- Be willing to remain at the hospital for the duration of the sexual assault examination, which can take up to six hours. Any follow‐up the client may need should be referred to Saving Grace staff
- Work as a team with backup staff, hospital personnel, and Saving Grace
- De‐brief with the Volunteer Coordinator (or leave a voicemail) by the end of the next business day following a response and report accurate statistics
- Maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to Saving Grace Ethics and Codes of Conduct
- Advocate for clients
- Attend in‐service trainings
