Central Oregon Disability Support Network (CODSN) is a non-profit offering support to families navigating disability in Central and Eastern Oregon. We offer a variety of services for our families, and we love what we do!
Do you remember the joy of learning to ride a bike? At Bike for Life Camp, we get to share that joy with children of all abilities—helping them discover independence, confidence, and connection through cycling.
What you'll do:
- Be part of a team of 3 volunteers paired with a rider.
- Cheer them on, offer encouragement, and celebrate each win!
- Build a trusting relationship with your team and rider.
- Support riders as they learn a life-long skill that can foster lifelong independence and community inclusion.
No Experience Needed:
- We provide a volunteer orientation before camp begins and have two adapted physical education teachers leading the way each day at camp!
- All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to show up each day and support your rider.
Time Commitment:
- We ask that volunteers try to sign up for the same session each week so they can build a strong and trusting relationship with their rider, but we understand that family and work schedules can be busy, so we will work around schedules when needed.
Session 1: 9:00 am - 10:15 am
Session 2: 10:30 am - 11:45 pm
Session 3: 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm
Session 4: 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm
Why It Matters
- For kids, riding a bike is pure fun!
- For adults, it can be a lifeline - Providing independence, physical health benefits, and a way to stay connected with friends, family, and the community.
Come join the fun! We will have a superhero day mid-week, and a celebratory bike parade on Friday to celebrate everyone's hard work!
