The Docent Volunteer position is a vital ambassador, providing customers with an engaging, and informative library experience. Docents will assist with re-opening communication and educational support in the library. Docents will lead tours and offers details about the new Central Library at Stevens Ranch. This volunteer opportunity has a duration of 6-8 months beginning Spring 2026.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: To support the library staff by providing customers with a friendly welcome to the new library. Supply information and lead building tours with the goal of creating an enriching library experience. Docents will offer detailed insights into our new Central Library at Stevens Ranch.
Volunteer Qualifications and Required Skills: Volunteer needs to possess the skills and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
• Passion for the library.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse audiences in a friendly and approachable manner.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to scheduled shifts.
• Ability to follow specific protocols for assigned task including following script provided.
• Basic mobility with the ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must be 18+.
