The Oregon Lightning is Central Oregon’s premier arena football team, delivering high-energy, community-driven sports entertainment. Our broadcast production team plays a key role in delivering a professional and engaging game-day experience to fans both in the arena and watching from home.
The Arena & Field Operations Crew plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless game-day experience by assisting with the setup and breakdown of field and arena elements. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in sports facility operations, event logistics, and game-day execution—perfect for students or individuals seeking careers in sports management, event operations, or facility coordination, or anyone who wants to be part of the action!
Key Responsibilities
- Field & Turf Setup: Assist in the layout, installation, and maintenance of arena turf and field elements, including goalposts, end zones, and team areas.
- Sponsor Banner & Signage Management: Help organize, install, and remove sponsor banners and game-day signage per partner agreements and branding guidelines.
- Arena Preparation: Support the setup and breakdown of key game-day infrastructure, such as seating configurations, boundary walls, and team benches.
- Equipment Coordination: Assist with the handling, storage, and maintenance of all field-related equipment before, during, and after events.
- Safety & Compliance: Monitor field conditions, identifying and addressing any potential hazards to maintain a safe environment for players, staff, and attendees.
- Game-Day Support: Provide on-the-ground assistance for pre-game, halftime, and post-game logistics, working closely with operations staff and event coordinators.

A few assigned stations require good mobility and involve frequent standing or walking. However, many positions can accommodate limited-mobility individuals, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be part of the game-day experience.

Qualifications & Skills
Interest in sports management, event operations, or facility coordination. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment, including turf panels and signage. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of field dimensions and sports venue logistics is a plus.
