Job Description
The High Desert Challenge Course is a part of the OSU Extension Service in Deschutes County, providing guided adventure exploration and experiential learning to members of our community. The HDCC enables participants to set achievable goals, focus on solutions, and learn new strategies to problem solve and push past personal limits. We work with youth, teens, families, adults, schools, non-profits and corporate groups at our course, which is located outdoors near the OSU Extension Service on the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.
We have an incredible team of well-trained facilitators and we want you to join us! We have an annual new volunteer facilitator
training in the Spring time. As a volunteer facilitator, you are required to attend two trainings, facilitate group meetings throughout the year (when it fits in your schedule), and bring a positive attitude to the course.
Time commitment: One trainings (~16 hours), Events (3-4 hours)
Approx. Time Annually: about 40 hours to 100 hours. This depends on how many events you can facilitate
Skills Required: No prior climbing experience necessary. Patience and ability to work with youth and adults.
