Our office assistants are the first contact for veterans and their families reaching out to COVO for assistance and information, and are an integral part of our services staff. The office assistant's primary responsibility is to make clients feel welcome and give information on services. The volunteer answers the phone and greets walk-in clients, listens to their concerns, explains available services, provides community resource information and directs them to the appropriate program staff for appointments or services. Office assistants also provide support to the office manager and manage the lobby area. Training is provided.
