Role of Advisory Council Member:
-Familiarity, endorsement and support of the stated mission and goals of the organization.
-Evaluate and monitor organizations needs for compliance with BBBS of America National Standards and required procedures for one-to-one mentoring services.
-Provide sound financial resources and solutions for all fundraising efforts.
-Advance the organization's public image.
Time Commitment:
-Attend Advisory Council meetings as scheduled- Currently every month.
-Serve on and attend the meetings of standing or special committees of the Advisory Council. Currently every month.
-Attend and participate in special events as needed.
-Attend Advisory Council retreats, training and workshops and other Advisory Council development activities.
-Volunteer, help accrue sponsors and participate in Comedy for Kids' Sake (Fall).
-Volunteer, help accrue sponsors and participate in Bowl for Kids's Sake (Spring).
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
-Serve the Advisory Council as an active member, voting member.
-A recommended personal annual contribution of $250. All AC members must be donors per our BBBSA agreement in an amount that is meaningful to you. Opportunities for monthly giving options as well.
-Prepare and participate in all meetings and events as needed.
-Work with the Advisory Council to develop on-going resources for the successful operation of BBBS of Central Oregon.
-Accurately communicate the vision, mission and purpose of BBBS of Central Oregon in interactions with colleagues and the general public
-Assume leadership roles in all Advisory Council activities, including fundraising, events and member recruitment.
-Assist the Executive Director, Program Director, BBBSCO staff, and Advisory Council in developing and sustaining long-term program needs.
